Three little words, said when passing by me as I struggled to breathe, struggled to keep putting one foot in front of the other, and wanted to quit.

“You got this.”

I seriously almost burst into tears. My friend had no idea, but I needed to hear those words. I’m sure you’ve had those moments too. Moments when you feel that nothing is going right and nothing you do is right. Moments when you feel overwhelmed by the mountains being thrown in your path. Moments when you aren’t sure how you’re going to make it through to the next day. Moments when everything seems to be spiraling out of control.

Some people might say, “You knew what you were getting into.” Perhaps that’s true. I don’t think any two marriages are the same, and each has its own unique struggles. Take the struggles that occur in a traditional first marriage, and add in the complexities and nuances that come with combining two families into one…then turn on the blender. I feel beat up many days…and that’s just from dealing with my own biological kids!

Those three little words were a reminder – I can do this. I’ve got this. More importantly, GOD has this and He has me in the palm of his hand.

If you’re struggling today, I want to encourage you – YOU’VE GOT THIS!! Don’t quit. You are not alone! Whatever you are facing, you can get through it.

“With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭60:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Absolutely. That day, it applied to running. But it can apply to a myriad of things in my life – parenting, stepparenting, wifing (is that a word), work life, etc.

Thank you for this breath of honesty. Praying for strength for you this very morning as you put one foot in front of the other. I hope you have a trusted community who can relate to your specific challenges and offer you hope and encouragement.

I do! I think we all crave that sense of belonging. I’m grateful to have an online group of stepmoms and biomoms who “get” the struggles of blended family life, as well as the small group that we host in our home. It has been life changing.

Love this! I completely agree with the above comments suggesting we need a support system for encouragement. But, I also think God will help us through when we can’t do it on our own! I know it’s referred to a lot, but I try to hold onto Philippians 4:13…I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. You got this!

This is always the BEST motivation!!! I LOVE hearing it from my husband because if he is cheering me on, I feel like I can conquer the world… hence this pregnancy and him telling me every day I can do it… I sometimes actually believe it;-)

Girl, we’ve all been there and I’m giving you a virtual hug right now! Glad your friend was able to say the right thing when you needed to hear it!
