One of the boys, 15-year-old Mitchell Miner, is a prime example.
Mitchell had a long day because he and his cow, Audri, were competing at the Iowa State Livestock Show, where your cow competes against other local cows.
They were taking a nap:
Mitchell and Audri battled, but finished fifth out of seven entrants.
After the competition, they both decided to rest.
After so much preparation, Mitchell and Audri were naturally exhausted, and when Mitchell’s father found the duo sleeping in the barn, he couldn’t help but take a picture of them.
The picture went viral on the internet, and no wonder. The photo is so adorable.
Mitchell and Audri fell asleep in each other’s arms. The photo shows Mitchell resting his head on Audri’s stomach while the animal rests its head on Audri’s lap.
A strong bond:
“I think when animals spend that much time with you, they really bond with you,” said Mitchell’s mom. said Mitchell’s mom.
Both of Mitchell’s parents grew up on farms, and although they no longer live in the country, they feel it’s important for their children to experience that.
Mitchell certainly appreciates his parents’ initiative, as he seems to be very happy with his friend Audri.
Mitchell and Audri will be separated this fall because Audri will have to return to her dairy farm.
But after seeing this photo, it’s quite likely that Mitchell will want to have his own cow someday!
