We often hear that it’s the dogs in distress that save the humans. That’s what this dog did with this baby, she cared for him as if he was one of her puppies. However, people pass by these dogs without doing anything to save them.
So, these dogs intervene, risking their lives, like this homeless dog who saved a child from dying in the freezing cold. He snuggled her warmly with her puppies.
This story is an example of the puppies’ immense solidarity and the strength of their hearts.
It all started when this mother gave up her baby in the backyard of her home. Puti the female dog, meanwhile, had just given birth to her puppies. So when she found the baby abandoned, helpless and forlorn, she decided to take care of it.
So she took him with her on the small seat she used to accommodate her little ones. She took him in as one of her puppies because she knew the baby needed her, he was helpless.
Puti kept him curled up under her like a puppy until the baby’s cries alerted the neighbors. Doctors say that without this dog and her puppies, the baby could not have endured the cold temperatures.
Puti had more maternal instincts for the baby than Santino’s own mother.
Neighbors fed the baby named Santino and then took him to the hospital. He was hospitalized for several days and received medical attention. He was only a month old and suffering from severe malnutrition.
The neighbors who found Santino knew the mother. She had lived in the neighborhood in the past and said she had once tried to abandon one of her children.
What the police dog found on his first day on the job surprised everyone.

“It was the coldest night.” And it was by huddling under the dog and her puppies that she saved the baby. She just needed to feed him, she took him in as a baby,” said a neighbor who heard the baby crying.
