Kenzo is a Central Asian herding dog, or Alabai. It comes from Central Asia and is one of the oldest breeds in the world.
Kenzo has adapted very well
Kenzo was adopted by Jamal Miah, a resident of East London, after his friend had to say goodbye to him due to his enormous size.
Jamal, Kenzo’s owner, says that despite his imposing size, he wanted him to be his life partner. When we saw him we were like “oh my god” he’s so big and he’s just a puppy.
The dog, which is almost one meter ninety, eats about two kilos of raw meat a day.
Because of its gigantic appearance, some people avoided walking past it. “It’s fifty-fifty,” says Jamal. And indeed, while some people will cross the street at the sight of him, others just want to touch and pet him.
In the end, the Briton said he spent about 10,000 euros on the dog’s care. Especially for his training, feeding and maintenance.
However, the dog is loved by everyone and is an excellent companion.
Alabai or Central Asian Shepherd: more about this breed
Alabai is a breed that reacts quickly, safely and seriously to threats.
There are about 4,000 stories behind this particular dog breed. It is said that it probably originated from Tibetan Mastiffs and Mongolian Shepherds, i.e. other dog breeds.
It is most commonly found in countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. They are generally large, robust, muscular, temperamental and self-confident dogs. Thanks to this, they protect the family, but at the same time they are quite independent. On the other hand, they tend to be wary of unfamiliar people or animals.
Males usually reach a weight between 50 and 79 kg and a minimum height of 70 cm. Females can weigh approximately 40 to 65 kg and have a minimum height of 65 cm.
Finally, although they have a strong character, they are calm and quiet. They adapt well to environmental changes and are known for their endurance, bravery against predators and natural territorial instincts. Watch the video with Kenzo.
